General
information
Gay's artistic approach evolves with
carefully composed photographs and each is digitally
enhanced or manipulated either in the darkroom and
hand-colored or collaged. Your online purchase of Gay’s
imagery will be the best quality possible.
For your purchase of a digital image, the print output
is selected by Gay, who has chosen the most appropriate
paper to best represent the image. Either Kodak Endura
color metallic paper or e-surface paper, traditionally
processed at a professional color lab, or on Epson
archival heavyweight matte or luster papers, rated for a
200 year life span, printed by an Epson 1280 or an Epson
2000P. As with all artwork on paper, keeping out of
direct sunlight and high moisture levels increases the
life of your image.
Commissioned works for logo design and advertisements
are available, as well as digital photo-editing,
including: restoration of old photographs, photo
manipulation, and image combining/ collage. You can
personalize items with your photos; playing cards,
greeting cards stationary, letterhead, or labels, the
possibilities are endless! Digital photo-editing starts
at $45.00 per hour.
Her black & white photographs are printed on either
beautiful matte surface Ilford fiber based or e-surface
papers that have extremely fine detail and a full range
of subtle tones. Long lasting color is applied with
Berol Prismacolor pencils and/or Marshall Oils.
If you have seen my artwork in person, you understand
that I do quality work. If you are seeing my work for
the first time on a computer monitor, you just need to
be aware that the prints will look somewhat different
from what the image looks like on a computer screen.
Light on a monitor is transmitted light, while a
photographic print makes use of reflected light. The
colors will be about the same, but the two mediums
simply have a different look and feel. Since a
photographic print is a continuous tone medium, it has
much higher resolution and much more detail than is
possible on a monitor, which uses pixels to provide what
is pretty low resolution image.
Availability
of specific artworks
Waldman Originals are
printed in a variety of sizes, usually appropriately
chosen because of a specific design element. Other sizes
sometimes available. Just ask! If an image is out of
stock, you will be contacted as to how long the wait will
be. Special orders usually filled within 3 weeks.
Mounting,
matting, and framing
Each image is hinge-mounted
on an acid-free archival backing and matted with a
museum-quality cotton rag board. Crescent # 1607 white is
most commonly used, and sometimes embellished with a
V-Line. Some pieces are double matted with white and
occasionally a color is tastefully used to enhance the
image. If dry mounting is necessary, an archival tissue is
used on an archival backing.
We can meet any of your
framing needs. Many images are framed in contemporary
metal frames. Commonly used profiles include; Nielsen 97
& 93 -167 - florentine walnut, N93-156 - florentine
black and N593-709- black with a silver beaded lip accent.
Wood frames including cherry, maple, ramin, and black make
for great accents for many images. So remember, there is
quite a large assortment of framing available, please feel
free to ask for a special design. Framed prices include
clear glass, non-glare and other specialty glass is
available upon request.

Returns
policy
We want you to be happy
with your purchase and we are happy to make returns as
easy as possible.
You may return a
photograph, in the same condition in which it arrived, for
a full refund within 30 days of the date you received it.
You will have to pay return shipping and insurance. The
refund will be made by check or credit to your credit card
account, depending on how you originally paid.
If a photograph arrives in
damaged condition, please call or e-mail us immediately
and retain all packing materials.
Please remember that you
view photographic prints by reflected light, but you see
images on your computer screen by transmitted light. There
is a difference, even though we make every effort to match
them. Everyone we talk to who has seen both the actual
photograph and the computer image is really impressed by
how much better the real photograph looks.
